Definitely scary. The social and environmental impacts will be huge. The corporate profits and individual poverty chasm will grow - it’s not like anyone will use all these profits from not using human labor to turn around and create a universal basic income so people can survive in some utopia state where robots do everything and we can just sit and create art. No. It’s going to be the dystopian nightmare version.
The downfall begins. Once jobs are lost in the corporate sector, it trickles down to retail, food industry etc. AI will disrupt the entire economy and once again the rich will continue to foster as all others struggle. And the electricity required to power the AI is going to wreck further damage on our environment and climate. My opinion is AI is truly revenge of the nerd boys.
AI is yet another way for rich people to steal the work products created by working class people and plagiarize them in order to pretend computers can do the job instead. People implementing this technology don't care that AI models constantly hallucinate and make up information. They don't care that it will accelerate the collapse of the economy. They don't care that it's already accelerating climate collapse. It will lead to customers being angry... but the people they care about (the wealthy 10% who already make up most consumer spending in the US) will be able to buy their way out of AI hell to get support from actual human beings while the rest of us suffer in an endless loop designed to be frustrating and dispiriting and financially draining. The extremely high water waste and energy usage is just another cherry on top of this already shitty sundae. AI is already being used to power and industrialize the holocaust in Gaza, and it will eventually be used to do the same here when working class people demand basic survival needs like safe drinking water and food.
Well yeah. Also it'll take CLEAN WATER from HUMANS? Is it too much to ask that humans be placed before machines???? AI, if used, needs to be used very sparingly. When I use google it comes up most of the time and I don't know how to turn it off. I'd rather have net neutrality. I'm trying to use Ecosia more.

AI is useful in terms of accessibility for disabled folks. Everything else is unnecessary. Critical thinking is futile
