Tech CEO Warns A.I. Will Lead To MILLIONS Of Jobs Lost & Spike Unemployment To 20%
By: Desmond Price
In our pursuit for convenience, have we created a monster that will inevitably do more harm than good? That’s the question I pose to you today.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei warned that artificial intelligence could eliminate up to half of entry-level white-collar jobs within five years, potentially pushing the unemployment rate to 20%.
In an interview with Axios, Amodei identified sectors including law, marketing, tech, and finance as most vulnerable. “These new generative AI technologies pose a real risk to early-career knowledge jobs,” said Molly Kinder of Brookings Metro.
Major employers are already restructuring. Walmart is cutting 1,500 corporate roles as it shifts toward AI integration, and Microsoft recently announced 6,000 layoffs to align with what it called “the AI era.” Workers most at risk are those early in their careers who have not yet gained enough experience to manage AI systems or teams.
Experts suggest workers adapt by focusing on interpersonal tasks and skills that AI cannot replicate. “If you can do your job locked in a closet with a computer, those are the things that are more worrying for AI,” one said. Kinder added, “It’s really important that you’ve mastered your craft, your area of expertise, augmented by this technology.” Amodei is urging policymakers to act quickly on AI regulation.Source - CNN
Would you like to see more regulations put on AI? Do you think people are overreacting or not reacting enough to the potential dangers of AI?

In my last livestream with Natalie Bencivenga, I explained my personal bias in regards to AI & why I’m so deathly afraid of it.
So I think it’s important for my cards to be on the table when I discuss this subject.
I think AI is incredibly dangerous & that we as a society are making a mistake by not HEAVILY regulating something that has the potential to be the most dangerous substance on the planet.
With that being said, it now seems inevitable that it will replace countless jobs in our society. Many argue that new jobs will arise & the effects will largely even out, but I’m skeptical.
There’s no guarantees that these new jobs will arise, but it does seem like a certainty that millions of jobs, if not entire industries, will completely cease to exist.
This particular story does feel complicated to me…
I’m not against the existence of AI, I just believe it needs to be incredibly regulated. However, even in a regulated AI reality, this conclusion would probably still come to pass.
Which begs the important question/debate ⬇️
Should we allow AI to replace large sections of the economy, knowing how devastating it would be to the economy? Or would preventing that cause more problems than it would solve?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this one! Please comment below & share your opinion on this topic ⬇️
Until next time,

Definitely scary. The social and environmental impacts will be huge. The corporate profits and individual poverty chasm will grow - it’s not like anyone will use all these profits from not using human labor to turn around and create a universal basic income so people can survive in some utopia state where robots do everything and we can just sit and create art. No. It’s going to be the dystopian nightmare version.
The downfall begins. Once jobs are lost in the corporate sector, it trickles down to retail, food industry etc. AI will disrupt the entire economy and once again the rich will continue to foster as all others struggle. And the electricity required to power the AI is going to wreck further damage on our environment and climate. My opinion is AI is truly revenge of the nerd boys.
