I’m sure many of you have seen the news that Trump’s budget bill has been passed. I had been keeping track of the progress last night on Threads, thanks to the reporting of

, who spent the night at the capitol.

Over the course of the night, there seemed to be hope that some Republicans might cave to the pressure of the American people. The people who were demanding this vote be blocked; but ultimately, the Republicans proved again that Trump’s words mean more than millions of their constituents.

This bill will be the largest transfer of wealth in modern American history. If you make over a million a year, you will receive a tax break, everyone else…you’re going to receive a hike & 17 million will lose healthcare benefits.

• Tax breaks for billionaires

• Reductions to Medicaid by $800 Billion

• Reductions to SNAP by $267 Billion

• Reductions to Medicare by $500 Billion

• Previous Trump tax cuts now made permanent

• DOGE cuts are now solidified into law

• ICE budget now exceeds many countries military budgets

• Green energy initiatives slashed

• I’m sure I’m missing a few things here

It’s okay to be upset. It’s okay to not know how to feel about all of this. I know that there are plenty of times where we want to act, but sometimes it’s okay to take a day to process an event.

Rural hospitals will close because of this move. Many people will fall into years of medical debt or bankruptcy. People I know in my life will lose healthcare coverage. This is personal to so many of us.

In the future, there will be time for rage, for organizing, for action.

Today, I want to take a minute to breathe & process what we just witnessed…

One thing I want to make abundantly clear - we will demand that whoever runs for office over the next few years, must commit to reversing what happened today.

It can’t be a “maybe”, we need a guarantee, that they will reverse this budget bill.

Demand that from these candidates & never accept any excuse of why they can’t or won’t commit to it.
