Donald Trump Is Definitely Going To Say The Election Was Stolen….Again
Let’s talk about the red and blue mirage
Is it just me, or does this election feel less “existential” than 2020 or 2016. The vibes feel different this time, but one thing will be same as before. Donald Trump will absolutely only “accept” victory. If he’s not declared the winner on Election night, he will say the election was stolen. It’s not a matter of “if” but rather a matter of “in what way” will Trump go about this
Before we get into that, just want to bring your attention to a few upcoming things:
In 2020, I made an election prediction video on YouTube. While this election has been a lot harder for me to predict, I intend to do the same again for the 2024 election. I’ll be making it sometime within the next 2 to 3 weeks. I’ll be sure to post an update when it’s finally published.
On Instagram, I will be holding another round of major polls before the election. So for all of my Instagram followers, be sure to keep an eye on our story over the next couple weeks.
I’ve noticed that some of you have been sharing our YouTube videos on Facebook recently. I’m not sure who it is, but whoever it is, thank you so much for sharing our videos! It’s really been helping the channel grow & I cannot express enough how much that means.
Speaking of our channel on YouTube - we are now starting to have guests again, so be on the lookout for conversations with other creators, journalists, and folks running for office.
Getting into the weeds here, but I promise this is helpful information
I want to talk about the “red mirage” and the “blue Mirage” and how they played into the 2020 election. Also, why it’s important to talk about them going into the 2024 election.
First, I wanna give a shout out to one of my favorite sources. An independent new show on YouTube called - Breaking Points. I’ve been watching Krystal and Saager since 2019 & they have helped me navigate so many different political stories in ways that other media outlets have been unable to. For the purposes of this story, I came across this information listening to their channel.
In terms of an election, this is what we mean when we refer to these terms.
Blue Mirage - On election night, A state appears to be going towards the Democratic candidate, but then shifts and goes to the Republican candidate
Red Mirage - On election night, a state appears to be going towards the Republican candidate, but then shifts and goes to the Democratic candidate
So why do these happen?
First, it’s important to know that every single state in America conducts their elections differently. In particular, some states in 2020, decided to count their mail-in ballots before their day-of ballots. While, other states chose to count their day-of ballots before their mail-in ballots.
As many of you remember, the 2020 election found that day-of ballots were leaning heavily Republican. Due to the Republican party messaging that their voters should show up to the polls to vote, and only to the polls.
Meanwhile, Democratic politicians were urging their voters to do mail-in ballots. Due to the ongoing pandemic, they wanted to reduce super spreader events that could lead to more COVID-19 cases.
So when you combined these two things, you had some states that appeared to be going towards one candidate, only to inevitably shift to the other one.
On election day in 2020, the states of Ohio, Iowa, Kentucky, and Texas all experience the blue mirage. Those states in particular, chose to count their mail-in ballots before their day-of ballots. So on election day, there were several hours that it appeared Joe Biden was going to win those states. Eventually those states began to start counting their day-of ballots. When that happened, those states showed the eventual winner - Donald Trump.
Now when that happened in the inverse, where we saw a red mirage in states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, we saw those states being red for most of the day before inevitably turning blue. That’s because those states chose to count their day-of ballots first and then they counted their mail-in ballots.
Now while the normal operating procedure for how states conduct their elections is not common knowledge, it was in fact known knowledge to Donald Trump.
He absolutely was aware that some of these states were choosing to conduct their elections this way. He also knew that some states chose not to start processing their mail in ballots until election day. Meaning he knew that some of those states were not going to finish counting their mail ballots on election day.
When we look back at election night, it was around midnight when Donald Trump declared that he had already “won the election” and that he had no idea why some of these ballots were “coming out of nowhere”.
Again, I want to be absolutely clear about this, Donald Trump absolutely knew that there was no way that Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. We’re going to finish counting their mail in ballots on election day. Even though he knew this, he declared himself the winner on election night and acted as if he did not understand why they weren’t finished counting on election day. Then, he chose to tell everyone that the ballots were coming out of nowhere and that it was “suspicious.”
This is a man who was very aware of the process and why it was taking as long as it was. Yet he chose to tell his millions of supporters that it was some kind of conspiracy. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he is going to do this again a month from now.
One of two outcomes will take place:
Donald Trump will win the election.
Donald Trump will lose the election - and this time it will be even more chaotic than it was before.
Trump has spent the last several years, installing people in several swing state governments that he believes will challenge election results this time around. If Kamala Harris defeats Donald Trump in the election, Trump will do everything in his power to delegitimize the results of the election.
I bring all of this up now because I think it’s important to be aware of it going into the election. While this is something that none of us want to think about, I do think that it’s more valuable to be prepared for the scenario, mentally speaking, than to be blindsided by it on election day.
I have plenty of criticisms of the Biden administration and Kamala Harris, but make no mistake, I do 100% believe that Donald Trump is a more toxic and corrosive leader than either of them. I think he’s a cancer, not just on our country, but on the entire world, with how he influences right wing demagogues globally.
I do not believe there is a scenario where he loses the election and it’s actually less chaotic than it was in 2020. Let’s all mentally prepare for that now, because it feels inevitable that it’s coming.
